À PROPOS DE LA PLANTE
Info Kalanchoe
The Kalanchoe, also known as ‘Flaming Katy’, is a hardy, low-maintenance houseplant that produces small, brightly coloured flowers in shades of red, pink, yellow, orange and white. Thanks to its succulent leaves, it stores water, making it perfect for those who sometimes forget to water it. The plant often flowers for weeks on end, bringing a touch of cheer to the home.
Light
Kalanchoe loves light and can even tolerate direct sunlight. A sunny south- or west-facing windowsill is ideal. The more light the plant receives, the more abundant and prolonged its flowering will be.
Watering
Water moderately and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. As the Kalanchoe is a succulent, it tolerates drought well but does not cope well with overwatering. Always ensure you use a pot with good drainage to prevent root rot.
Temperature
The ideal temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees. The plant thrives at room temperature and can also tolerate slightly warmer conditions. Avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 10 degrees.
Care
Remove wilted flowers regularly to prolong flowering. After flowering, you can prune the plant lightly to keep it compact. During the flowering period, give it a little liquid flower fertiliser every two weeks. If you want the plant to flower again, it needs a rest period with less light (around 6 weeks with short days).
